Technical Support Specialist for Mining Equipment

Reporting to the Global Product Support & Reliability Manager, Komatsu is seeking a Factory Technical Support Specialist who will deliver expert technical service support in the installation and training of Underground Hard Rock Mining equipment to Komatsu distribution service teams and customers worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
Provide second-tier technical support to customers when field assistance is unavailable or unable to resolve technical inquiries. Ensure customers receive necessary technical data to aid in troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of both new and refurbished equipment. Collaborate with engineering, sales, and product management teams to develop customer specifications for tailored machine proposals. Assist in the creation of priority parts listings for capital equipment. Report any environmental, health, and safety concerns related to products. Deliver technical training to customers and service regions on optimal operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting practices. Offer technical support to end users, operators, and regional/dealer service personnel for complex technical issues. Provide constructive feedback to the factory to facilitate equipment or operational improvements. Aid in compiling accurate data for warranty claims and engineering enhancements. Review spare parts recommendations and enhance the accuracy of Machine Life Operating Costs (MLOC). Investigate warranty claims proactively and reactively to boost customer satisfaction and relay feedback to the respective factories. Support operations with field-testing and trials of new products and updated components to ensure safe and effective operation. Conduct equipment demonstrations safely. Assist in training distributors/dealers as necessary. Maintain accurate records of time, technical reports, failure reports, and parts lists as applicable.Qualifications/Requirements
Technical certification or diploma in heavy equipment mechanics or a related field. Technical certification in electrical technology with authorization to work on high voltage systems. Dual Trade certificate and experience with Battery Electric Vehicles is highly desirable. Minimum of 7 years of extensive experience with underground mining equipment, particularly underground drills and/or bolters. Proven ability in key aspects of technical troubleshooting and lifecycle management reporting. Knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems. Proficient in reading and interpreting equipment schematics. Strong diagnostic and problem-solving capabilities. Ability to facilitate technical training and convey detailed information effectively. Team-oriented with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Flexible, self-motivated, and committed to achieving customer satisfaction goals. Good computer literacy. Willingness to work varied shifts in an underground environment as needed. Ability to travel as required with a valid passport and driver's license. Proficiency in English is required.Other
Position Status: Permanent Full-Time
Language Requirements: Oral and Written Proficiency in English
Base Salary Range: $39.03 to $52.81 per hour
Bonus: 5%
