About the Position:

Technica Mining is seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team in Mine Development. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting local projects across our work sites in Sudbury, Ontario.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and repair mechanical failures of motorized equipment
  • Perform daily equipment inspections to ensure optimal performance
  • Test repaired equipment to ensure work meets manufacturer specifications
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date service logs and documentation
  • Order parts as required to complete repairs
  • Execute scheduled work in accordance with health and safety standards and manufacturer specifications

Qualifications:

  • 421A Heavy Duty Equipment Technician - Journey Person Candidate or;
  • Licensed 310T Truck and Coach Technician or;
  • Licensed 310S Automotive Service Technician
  • Basic Underground Hard Rock Mining Common Core (U0000, U0001, U0002, & U00012) or equivalent provincial designation is preferred
  • Minimum of five (5) years' underground experience is preferred
  • Strong diagnostic skills to troubleshoot and repair equipment
  • Strong technical aptitude to use digital platforms used for work orders
  • High level of self-motivation and autonomy
  • Ability to work as a team and independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Committed to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment
  • Familiar with CAT, Epiroc, and/or MacLean equipment is preferred
