JOB DESCRIPTION

The Chemical Engineer is currently seeking a Lead Process Engineer with expertise in water and wastewater management to enhance our team within the energy sector. The successful candidate will be involved in projects spanning various domains, including upstream, midstream, and downstream oil and gas, as well as energy transition and petrochemical sectors.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Utilize extensive technical knowledge to fulfill process engineering deliverables with minimal oversight.
  • Create process simulations and conduct heat and material balance calculations.
  • Perform equipment sizing and optimize control strategies to aid in the development of process flow diagrams (PFD) and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID).
  • Collaborate with other engineering disciplines and liaise with clients.
  • Review vendor documentation thoroughly.
  • Complete conceptual studies through to detailed engineering stages within established timelines and budgets.
  • Supervise a team of process engineers, providing mentorship and support to junior and intermediate engineers.
  • Ensure all process engineering outputs comply with industry standards, codes, and client specifications.
  • Conduct regular reporting, scheduling, resource planning, and coordination with remote offices.
  • Stay updated on technical skills and emerging technologies in the industry.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Strong understanding of water treatment technologies and chemistry related to industrial wastewater and process water.
  • Experience in solid removal techniques (such as softening, filtration, ion exchange, reverse osmosis, and evaporation) and disinfection methods (including chlorination and ozonation).
  • Familiarity with utilities design.
  • Registration or eligibility for registration with relevant professional engineering bodies.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience primarily in refining, petrochemicals, or oil and gas sectors.
  • Proficiency in HYSYS and/or ProMax software.
  • Knowledge of additional software such as HTRI, FlareNet, Pipeflow, AFT Fathom, AFT Impulse, and GTPRO.
  • Strong client-facing skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Comprehensive understanding of process engineering principles.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively to meet deadlines across multiple projects.
  • Capability to coordinate with team members in different locations.
