About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Water Treatment Engineer to join our team at Integrated Sustainability. As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality water treatment solutions to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Leadership: Lead small to large-sized teams and projects, coordinating with water, waste, and energy experts to deliver sustainable solutions.
  • Data Analysis: Undertake and oversee detailed data characterization and analysis to inform engineering design and project decisions.
  • Engineering Design: Complete front-end feasibility, preliminary, and detailed engineering design in various technical contexts, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Construction Management: Oversee construction management and system optimization to meet client requirements, ensuring timely and cost-effective project delivery.
  • Water/Wastewater Chemistry: Conduct water/wastewater chemistry analysis and chemical modeling to assess treatment requirements for use, reuse, and/or discharge.
  • Client Relationships: Foster critical relationships with clients, technical and non-technical staff, government representatives, and technology suppliers to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Team Supervision: Supervise junior technical and field staff, providing guidance and mentorship to support their professional development.
  • System Design: Design and retrofit water/wastewater systems and facilities for industrial and municipal water treatment, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Equipment Sizing: Sizing control valves (CVs) and Pressure Safety Valves (PSVs) to ensure safe and reliable operation.
  • Process Optimization: Conduct process optimization studies, including process simulation using VMG Sim Software, to improve plant performance and efficiency.
  • Procurement and Construction: Oversee procurement, fabrication, and construction of water and wastewater systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Work with regulatory requirements related to engineering, including standards (API, ASME) and other industry-related codes.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in a related field of water/wastewater treatment, aqueous chemistry, process, and/or mechanical engineering.
  • Experience: 10+ years of applicable process engineering experience in North American industrial water treatment, oil and gas, mining, or other process industries.
  • Registration: Registration with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) and/or Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia (EGBC); experience and/or registration with U.S bodies including Texas and California is considered an asset.
  • Skills: Excellent English communication skills, experience in preparing and reviewing technical reports, proven leadership and communication skills, and ability to work under own initiative to meet deadlines and manage priorities.
