We are seeking a highly skilled Intermediate Process Engineer to join our Water Treatment team in Western Canada. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering water treatment projects in various sectors, including industrial, mine water, and municipal, as well as bench and pilot-scale laboratory work.
Key Responsibilities- Integration with our water treatment group and developing strong relationships through effective verbal and written communication.
- Project management and coordination, ensuring timely and budget-friendly delivery.
- Assistance with client relationships, proposal development, and engineering effort estimates.
- Communication and coordination with team members, other WSP groups, equipment vendors, clients, and sub-contractors.
- Preparation of technical reports, specifications, process schematics, and layout drawings.
- Analysis and design of water treatment projects, including process and technology selection, equipment sizing and specification, process modeling, mass balance, hydraulic analysis, and 3D layout.
- Quality review of writing, analysis, and design completed by junior colleagues.
- Mentoring and on-the-job training for junior colleagues.
- Management of multiple simultaneous projects, prioritizing tasks to meet evolving project schedules.
- Providing project support for senior staff and staying up-to-date with industry developments through ongoing training.
- Primarily office-based consulting engineering work with opportunities for fieldwork.
- Undergraduate degree in chemical engineering.
- Current registration as P. Eng. within a Canadian province.
- 5-10 years of relevant working experience since graduation.
- Experience in water treatment, with metallurgy experience being an asset.
- Process modeling experience with HYSIM/HYSIS and OLI software, or Metsim software is an asset.
- Strong written and oral communication skills in English; French skills are an asset.
- Strong organizational skills in information management and time management.
- Experience with technical problem-solving using industry-standard commercial computer software.
- Experience with project management and delivery according to quality standards.
- Experience with business development and proposal writing.
- Proven record of independent work and team collaboration.
- Field, construction, and commissioning experience is an asset.
- Graduate degree(s) are an asset.
- Valid driver's license.
