Role Summary:
The Bilingual Facilities Specialist is essential in promoting effective and economical store operations by overseeing vendor relationships, managing facilities, analyzing data, and executing special projects. You will utilize your skills in facilities management, contract negotiation, and data analysis to enhance vendor partnerships, assist stores with their requirements, pinpoint cost-saving measures, and ensure project completion.

Work Arrangement:
This position will adopt a hybrid work model, requiring on-site presence at our Ottawa office two days per week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Vendor Oversight: Manage vendor relationships for various services affecting stores, including contract negotiation, performance management, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Facilities Oversight: Assist stores with maintenance requirements, equipment transitions, and ad hoc facilities requests to ensure operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Data & Cost Evaluation: Review store expenditures and service contracts to discover areas for cost reductions and ensure precise tracking and reporting.
  • Project Coordination: Oversee special projects addressing store needs, collaborating with vendors and stakeholders for successful execution.
  • Compliance & Risk Oversight: Manage store closures, ensure timely service terminations, and maintain emergency services for inactive stores, adhering to compliance standards and minimizing risks.

Qualifications:

  • Bilingual in English and French is mandatory
  • Post-secondary certification in facilities management or relevant experience
  • At least 3 years of experience in facilities management
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Familiarity with Building Code and relevant regulations
  • Established relationships with key industry vendors
  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to hold vendors accountable
  • Critical thinking abilities and a sense of urgency
  • Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat is an asset
