Role Summary:
The Bilingual Facilities Specialist is essential in promoting effective and economical store operations by overseeing vendor relationships, facility management, data oversight, and special initiatives. This role requires leveraging expertise in facilities oversight, contract management, and data interpretation to enhance vendor interactions, assist stores with operational needs, identify cost-reduction strategies, and ensure project delivery.

Work Arrangement:
This position will adopt a hybrid work model, with expectations to work on-site from our Ottawa office a couple of days each week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Vendor Oversight: Manage vendor relationships for various services affecting store operations, including contract negotiation, performance management, and cost-saving identification.
  • Facility Oversight: Assist stores with maintenance requests, equipment transitions, and miscellaneous facility needs to ensure smooth operations.
  • Data Analysis: Evaluate store expenditures and service agreements to pinpoint cost-saving opportunities and maintain accurate reporting.
  • Project Coordination: Lead special projects addressing store requirements, collaborating with vendors and stakeholders for successful outcomes.
  • Compliance Management: Oversee store closures, ensure timely service terminations, and maintain emergency services for inactive locations, adhering to compliance standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bilingual in English and French is mandatory
  • Post-secondary certification in facilities management or related experience
  • At least 3 years of experience in facilities management
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Familiarity with Building Codes and relevant regulations
  • Established relationships with key industry vendors
  • Strong negotiation skills and accountability for vendor performance
  • Critical thinking abilities and a proactive approach
  • Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat is an asset
