About the Role

The National Capital Commission (NCC) is seeking a highly skilled Project Officer, Facilities and Programs to join our team. As a key member of our Facilities and Programs section, you will play a crucial role in the management of comprehensive year-round operational requirements and services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the management of operational requirements and services for various projects, including the Rideau Canal Skateway, Weekend Bikedays, and urban park management.
  • Coordinate and direct contracts, project operations, and permit application reviews.
  • Interact with stakeholders and negotiate service delivery, operational requirements, and restrictions with contractors, partners, and clients.
  • Participate in the management of material and financial resources related to the position.
Requirements
  • Education: A degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in a relevant field, such as Contract Management, Landscape Architecture, Events Planning, or Horticulture.
  • Experience: 1-3 years of experience in operational or event environments, with a focus on project management, contract supervision, and event coordination.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with on-site monitoring practices, event management, and NCC's urban lands site use guidelines.
  • Abilities: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Competencies: Demonstrated integrity and respect, thinking things through, working effectively with others, and showing initiative and being action-oriented.
Working Conditions
  • Ability to work in extreme weather conditions and irregular shift schedules during events.
  • Ability to stand and walk for more than three consecutive hours outdoors.
Conditions of Employment
  • Possess or eligible to obtain Reliability security clearance.
  • Linguistic profile: Bilingual BBB.
  • Possess valid driver's license.
  • Position is in the National Capital Region.
