Position Overview:

We are seeking a Principal Animation Researcher to join our innovative team at Electronic Arts. This role is designed for an individual with extensive experience in real-time animation, contributing to cutting-edge projects that shape the future of interactive entertainment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement innovative solutions to complex animation challenges, enhancing the uniqueness of our gaming experiences.
  • Conduct research on advanced animation technologies and their applications in real-time gaming scenarios.
  • Create demonstrations that highlight novel uses of animation technology.
  • Collaborate with other developers within SEED to leverage your expertise across various projects.
  • Engage with game teams and central technology groups to better understand their needs and provide insights in overlapping domains.
  • Oversee the complete delivery process of new animation technologies, from research to integration into EA products.
  • Act as a technology leader in animation, sharing insights and influencing practices across EA through various forums.
  • Publish findings and present at conferences to contribute to the broader industry knowledge.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 15 years of experience in the gaming industry or a related field, with a specialization in real-time animation.
  • Proficiency in animation algorithms and techniques, with a bonus for experience in machine learning applications.
  • A proven track record of delivering animation technology in AAA games or similar products.
  • Experience with publications or presentations in the field of real-time animation research.
  • Strong programming skills in languages such as C++ or Python.
  • Familiarity with game engines and collaborative work environments.
  • A genuine passion for video games and willingness to travel for industry events.
  • Leadership experience is a plus.
