Junior Electrical Engineering Co-op Position

About Fleetway Engineering

At Fleetway Engineering, we are committed to ensuring that Canada's maritime fleets are dependable and tailored to meet operational needs, with fully trained and supported personnel. We act as a reliable technical collaborator throughout the phases of design, construction, service, and decommissioning. Our expertise encompasses a range of professional technical services, including Engineering, Integrated Logistics Support, Technical Editing, Configuration Management, Project Management, Training, Technical Translation, and Marine Technical Services.

With over 35 years of experience, we have cultivated an exceptional team and established a strong reputation for delivering quality service to our clients. Our focus is on nurturing our workforce and leveraging innovation to remain the premier provider of professional services in the marine sector.

We adhere to the highest standards of quality, safety, and security, holding ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001 certifications.

If you are interested in joining a team where you can make a meaningful impact, we would be delighted to hear from you.

As one of Canada's leading marine engineering integrators, we seek skilled individuals to contribute to Fleetway as we advance in Canadian naval defense contracts (In-Service Support). Our projects are centered on government ship design and support, including warships, ferries, icebreakers, and commercial vessels.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Your primary focus will be on Naval Projects (e.g., Arctic Offshore Patrol Vessel, Canadian Surface Combatant). This will involve a variety of analyses and calculations, allowing you to familiarize yourself with military and commercial specifications related to maintenance planning, logistic support analysis, availability, reliability, maintainability (AR&M), Failure Modes Effects Criticality Analysis (FMECA), Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), Level Of Repair Analysis (LORA), spares modeling, and Life Cycle Cost (LCC) modeling.
  • You will assist our Program Managers with client interactions, preparing presentations, and formal documentation.
  • You will gain insights into contractual obligations, customer specifications, engineering data, design modifications, and other information necessary for planning and developing Integrated Logistics Support activities from the conceptual phase through the product lifecycle.

Qualifications and Skills:
  • Education: Currently enrolled in an Electrical Engineering Bachelor's Degree Program, maintaining good academic standing.
  • Experience: Less than 2 years.

All applicants must meet the requirements for the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and obtain Canadian Government Security clearance.

What We Provide:
  • Fleetway offers opportunities for talented individuals who share our commitment to delivering service excellence and value to our clients in the marine industry.
  • If you enjoy collaborating with a skilled team, Fleetway could be the ideal opportunity for you.

What to Expect:
  • As a co-op student, you will be part of a distinguished group of Naval Architects, Mechanical Engineers, and Electrical Engineers.
  • Supported by your colleagues, you will gain exposure to a diverse range of Navy and Commercial projects. As a co-op student, you can expect to acquire valuable work experience and broad project exposure by participating in commercial and government initiatives, such as incorporating engineering change packages into existing engineering documentation and customizing in-service naval vessels.

Application Process:

Please complete the online application form, including a current resume detailing your experience and education, a cover letter, and a recent transcript that outlines:
  • The co-op position you are applying for.
  • Your current academic year/term.
  • The number of work terms you have completed.
  • Your anticipated graduation date.
  • The drafting/modeling technologies you have utilized.
  • Any previous co-op experience.
  • Your motivation for wanting to join the Fleetway team.

All applications will be reviewed by our recruitment team. If your qualifications align with potential opportunities, you will be contacted to discuss your candidacy.

We appreciate the interest of all candidates; however, only those selected for interviews will be contacted.

We do not accept unsolicited resumes from recruitment agencies and are not liable for any fees related to unsolicited resumes.
