Junior Electrical Engineering Co-op Position

About Fleetway Engineering

At Fleetway Engineering, we are committed to ensuring that Canada's maritime fleets are dependable and purpose-fit, with crews that receive comprehensive training and support. As a trusted technical collaborator throughout the phases of design, construction, operational service, and decommissioning, we take pride in delivering high-quality professional technical services. Our offerings include Engineering, Integrated Logistics Support, Technical Editing, Configuration Management, Project Management, Training, Technical Translation, and Marine Technical Services.

With over 35 years of experience, we have cultivated an exceptional team and established a solid reputation for servicing our clients. Our focus is on nurturing our personnel and leveraging innovation to maintain our position as the leading provider of professional services in the marine sector.

We adhere to the highest standards of quality, safety, and security, holding ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001 certifications.

If you are interested in being part of a team that makes a difference, we would be eager to hear from you.

As one of Canada's foremost marine engineering integrators, we seek talented individuals to contribute their expertise to Fleetway as we spearhead Canadian naval defense contracts (In-Service Support). Our projects focus on government ship design and support, encompassing warships, ferries, icebreakers, and commercial vessels.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Your primary focus will be on Naval Projects (e.g., Arctic Offshore Patrol Vessel, Canadian Surface Combatant). This will involve various analyses and calculations. You will gain insights into numerous military and commercial specifications related to maintenance planning, logistic support analysis, availability, reliability, maintainability (AR&M), Failure Modes Effects Criticality Analysis (FMECA), Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), Level Of Repair Analysis (LORA), spares modeling, and Life Cycle Cost (LCC) modeling.
  • You will assist our Program Managers with client engagement, preparation of presentations, and formal documentation.
  • You will also experience the dynamics of contractual obligations, customer specifications, engineering data, design modifications, and other information necessary to plan and develop Integrated Logistics Support activities from the conceptual phase through the product lifecycle.

Qualifications:
  • Education: Currently enrolled in an Electrical Engineering Bachelor's Degree Program and maintaining good academic standing.
  • Experience: Less than 2 years.

All successful candidates must meet the requirements for the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and obtain Canadian Government Security clearance.

What We Provide:
  • Fleetway offers opportunities for talented individuals who share our commitment to delivering service excellence and value to our clients in the marine industry.
  • If you enjoy collaborating with a skilled team, Fleetway could be the ideal opportunity for you.

What to Expect:
  • As a co-op student, you will join an exceptional group of Naval Architects, Mechanical, and Electrical Engineers.
  • With support from your colleagues, you will gain exposure to a diverse range of Navy and Commercial projects. As a co-op student, you can anticipate valuable work experience and broad project exposure by participating in both commercial and government initiatives, such as integrating engineering change packages into existing engineering documentation and the particularization of in-service naval vessels.

Application Process:

Please complete the online application form. Include a current resume detailing your experience and education, a cover letter, and a recent transcript that outlines:
  • The co-op position you are applying for.
  • Your current academic year/term.
  • The number of work terms you have completed.
  • Your anticipated graduation date.
  • The drafting/modeling technologies you have utilized.
  • Any previous co-op experience.
  • Your motivation for wanting to join the Fleetway team.

All applications will be reviewed by our recruitment team. If a recruiter identifies a potential opportunity that aligns with your skills and experience, you will be contacted to discuss your qualifications.

We appreciate the interest of all candidates; however, only those selected for interviews will be contacted.

We do not accept unsolicited resumes from recruitment agencies or employment firms and are not liable for any fees related to unsolicited resumes.
