About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to join the Government of Canada - Central as a Construction General Manager. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the construction process and ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement construction plans and strategies to achieve project goals and objectives.
  • Manage and coordinate the work of construction teams, including contractors, engineers, and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Monitor and control project costs, timelines, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify and mitigate risks, and to develop and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including contractors, suppliers, and government agencies.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in construction management, with a strong track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and direct teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong knowledge of construction laws, regulations, and industry standards.
