Job Summary

The Government of Alberta is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Psychologist to join our team in the Provincial Campus Based Care (PCBC) program. As a key member of our multi-disciplinary team, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality mental health services to children, youth, and families.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with our team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans, ensuring effective monitoring and assessment mechanisms are in place.
  • Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments, including interviews with youths to determine their mental state and make provisional diagnoses, where applicable, with recommendations for further assessment and treatment.
  • Develop and implement a range of therapeutic approaches for individual, group, and family therapy, identifying strategies to support positive outcomes.
  • Supervise Psychologist 1's, University Practicum Students, and provisional Psychologists, providing guidance and support to enhance their practice approach, analysis of information, and theory/research to practice.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must demonstrate strong leadership and critical thinking skills, with the ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary setting. You will have a solid understanding of childcare practice, assessment, treatment, and behavioral management, as well as exceptional written and verbal communication skills to build effective relationships with others.
