Addressing the psychosocial needs of oncology patients and their families is both meaningful and impactful work.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Clinical Psychologist II, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering advanced clinical psychological services tailored to the needs of both inpatient and outpatient oncology populations, encompassing screening, assessment, and psychological intervention.
  • Making informed clinical decisions to address the intricate healthcare needs of patients and families affected by cancer.
  • Designing psychological treatment programs for individuals and families experiencing cancer, which may include individual, group, and family therapy.

Role Overview:

In this advanced psychology position, you will provide comprehensive clinical services, including psychological assessment, diagnosis, and intervention. You will also offer consultation and education to the interprofessional team and patients/families, while providing clinical leadership and coordination within your designated program area. Your role will involve:

  • Consulting and collaborating with teams to ensure evidence-based practices align with psychology standards of practice and ethical guidelines.
  • Leading initiatives related to program, policy, and procedure development, service planning, staff training, quality improvement, and research activities.
  • Supervising doctoral-level psychology residents, master's level interns, provisional psychologists, psychometrists, and other team members.

Required Qualifications:

To be considered for this position, candidates must possess:

  • A doctoral degree in Psychology from a Canadian Psychological Association (CPA) or American Psychological Association (APA) accredited program, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Active or eligible registration with the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP).

Preferred Qualifications:

Additional qualifications that would be advantageous include:

  • A minimum of one year of experience working with electronic medical records (e.g., ARIA, EPIC, Connect Care).
  • Experience in health psychology.
  • Experience in mentoring, coaching, and supervising trainees, including pre-doctoral residents and students.
