Opportunity Overview:
We are excited to present a position for a Clinical Psychologist I dedicated to supporting individuals in the community who require tailored rehabilitation services. This role involves conducting psychological evaluations and delivering therapeutic interventions for clients facing both new and ongoing developmental or medical challenges. The successful candidate will engage in both individual and group therapy sessions as part of a collaborative interdisciplinary team that includes various allied health professionals and healthcare providers. Services will be rendered in both clinic settings and through virtual platforms.
Role Responsibilities:
As a Clinical Psychologist I, your primary responsibilities will encompass providing a spectrum of foundational psychological services to patients and their families, adhering to established standards and protocols. Your tasks will include:
- Conducting psychological assessments and screenings.
- Implementing interventions and rehabilitation strategies.
- Engaging in preventive measures and health promotion activities.
- Participating in educational initiatives for clients and their families.
You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to design and execute services that reflect best practices and uphold ethical standards. Your insights regarding psychological factors and barriers will be invaluable in shaping treatment plans and enhancing team dynamics.
Supervision and Collaboration:
In addition to direct patient care, you may be tasked with supervising psychometrists, provisional psychologists, and master's level psychology students. Your contributions will also extend to program development, policy formulation, and involvement in research projects.
Required Qualifications:
A Master's degree in Psychology from an accredited institution, with a focus on applied areas relevant to the practice setting. Candidates must be actively registered or eligible for registration with the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP).
Preferred Qualifications:
Membership in the Canadian College of Alberta Psychologists or a similar organization affiliated with clinical psychology is considered an asset.
