Your Opportunity:
Alberta Health Services is seeking a dedicated Clinical Psychologist II to join our team. This role is designed to support the outpatient oncology population as well as inpatients, providing an enriching opportunity to collaborate within a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team. Our team consists of psychologists, social workers, spiritual health practitioners, sexual health consultants, and specialized patient navigators who are committed to assisting patients and their families in navigating the complexities of cancer care. Engaging with individuals facing cancer can be both meaningful and rewarding.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Clinical Psychologist II, your primary responsibilities will include delivering advanced psychological services, which encompass assessment, diagnosis, and intervention. You will also provide consultation and education to both the interprofessional team and patients/families. This position entails clinical leadership and coordination within designated program areas.
Your role will involve:
- Conducting comprehensive psychological assessments and interventions tailored to the needs of oncology patients.
- Making informed clinical decisions to address the complex healthcare needs of patients and their families.
- Developing and implementing psychological treatment programs, including individual, group, and family therapy.
- Collaborating with team members to ensure evidence-based practices align with established psychology standards and ethical guidelines.
- Leading initiatives related to program development, policy formulation, staff training, quality improvement, and research activities.
- Providing supervision and mentorship to psychology residents, interns, and other team members.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a doctoral degree in Psychology from a recognized program relevant to the practice setting. Registration with the College of Alberta Psychologists is required or eligibility for registration will be considered.
Preferred Qualifications:
A minimum of one year of experience working with electronic medical records is preferred. Experience in health psychology and mentoring trainees is also advantageous.
