Position Overview:
We are excited to present an opportunity for a Clinical Psychologist I who is dedicated to supporting individuals in the community facing complex rehabilitation needs. This role involves delivering psychological evaluations and therapeutic interventions for clients with both new and ongoing developmental or medical challenges. The successful candidate will engage in providing both individual and group psychological services as part of a collaborative interdisciplinary team, which includes various allied health professionals and healthcare providers. Services will be offered in both clinical settings and through virtual platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Clinical Psychologist I, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Conducting psychological assessments and providing diagnoses.
- Implementing interventions and rehabilitation strategies tailored to individual client needs.
- Participating in educational initiatives aimed at promoting mental health awareness.
- Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care that adheres to best practices and ethical standards.
- Providing mentorship and supervision to junior staff, including psychometrists and psychology students.
- Contributing to the development of programs, policies, and procedures that enhance service delivery.
- Engaging in research initiatives to advance the field of psychology.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess a Master’s degree in Psychology from an accredited institution, with a focus on applied areas relevant to clinical practice. Registration or eligibility for registration with the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP) is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Membership in the Canadian College of Alberta Psychologists or a related professional organization is considered an asset.
