Clinical Psychologist I

Opportunity Overview:
We are excited to present a role for a Clinical Psychologist I who is passionate about supporting individuals in the community facing complex rehabilitation needs. This position involves delivering psychological evaluations and therapeutic interventions for clients with both new and ongoing developmental or medical challenges. The successful candidate will engage in both individual and group therapy sessions as part of a collaborative interdisciplinary team that includes various allied health professionals and healthcare providers. Services will be offered in both clinic settings and through virtual platforms.
Role Responsibilities:
As a Clinical Psychologist I, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Conducting psychological assessments and providing tailored treatment plans for clients.
- Maintaining comprehensive clinical documentation of services rendered and tracking clinical outcomes.
- Offering rehabilitation consultations to colleagues and mentoring new staff, students, and teaching assistants.
- Collaborating with an interdisciplinary team, community physicians, and various community programs to enhance patient care.
- Making informed recommendations to support discharge planning and potentially assisting other community sites as needed.
Professional Expectations:
The Clinical Psychologist I will be expected to:
- Deliver effective patient care through innovative and client-centered methodologies.
- Engage in educational activities and provide psychological insights that inform treatment planning and team dynamics.
- Supervise psychometrists, provisional psychologists, and master's level psychology students.
- Contribute to the development of programs, policies, and procedures, and participate in formal research initiatives.
Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master's degree in Psychology from an accredited institution, with a focus on applied areas relevant to the practice setting. Registration with the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP) is required or must be eligible for registration.
Preferred Qualifications:
Membership in the Canadian College of Alberta Psychologists or a similar organization related to clinical psychology is considered an asset.
