Senior Project Manager (PM II) Job Description

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Manager to join our team at the BC Centre for Excellence in HIV/AIDS. As a Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading and managing large-scale projects or components of major projects to ensure that project deliverables are completed on time and on budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement project plans, including financial responsibility for the project and management of resources.
  • Lead and manage project activities, including facilitation, effective communication, and coordination with stakeholders.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including directors, project sponsors, managers, staff, and external partners.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and support to project team members, consultants, and user groups.
  • Develop and implement effective processes to assess project risks, identify risk mitigation strategies, and monitor risk throughout the project life cycle.
  • Collaborate with the Director/Project Sponsor to develop a budget plan for the project and monitor expenditures.
  • Develop and implement a sustainment plan to ensure ongoing support for new programs.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline and seven (7) to ten (10) years' recent, related experience in project management.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification preferred.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of project management principles and methodologies.
  • Ability to utilize initiative, vision, independent thinking, and creative problem-solving abilities to implement project plans and realize project completion.
  • Effective facilitation, persuasion, and negotiation skills to achieve consensus, resolve conflict, and achieve desired outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide coaching, supervision, leadership, and team development.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage relationships and influence senior leadership.
  • Demonstrated excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing with various stakeholders.
