About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Manager to join our team at the BC Centre for Excellence in HIV/AIDS. As a Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading and managing large-scale projects or components of major projects to ensure that project deliverables are completed on time and on budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement project plans, including financial responsibility for the project and management of resources.
- Lead and manage project activities, including facilitation, effective communication, and coordination with stakeholders.
- Establish project teams and provide leadership, guidance, and support to designated staff, project members, and consultants.
- Monitor and report on project progress, identify and mitigate risks, and make recommendations for project scope changes.
- Implement and contribute to the implementation of effective processes to assess project risks, identify risk mitigation strategies, and monitor risk throughout the project life cycle.
- Develop and implement a sustainment plan to ensure ongoing support for new programs.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including Directors, Project Sponsors, Managers/Leaders, staff, and other stakeholders to develop detailed project charters and project plans.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline and seven (7) to ten (10) years' recent, related experience in project management, including successfully managing significant large projects or initiatives.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification preferred.
- Comprehensive knowledge of project management principles and methodologies, including ability to coach staff on these skills.
- Ability to utilize initiative, vision, independent thinking, and creative problem-solving abilities to implement project plans and realize project completion.
- Effective facilitation, persuasion, and negotiation skills to achieve consensus, resolve conflict, and achieve desired outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability to provide coaching, supervision, leadership, and team development.
- Demonstrated ability to manage relationships and influence senior leadership.
- Demonstrated excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing with various stakeholders.
