Toronto, Ontario, Canada Montrose Environmental Group Full time

ABOUT YOU

Are you passionate about a career dedicated to safeguarding the environment and enhancing air quality? Do you aspire to be part of a team that is committed to your growth from the very beginning? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you that includes both formal training and hands-on experience, ensuring your success regardless of your prior background.

Who are we? We are Montrose, a leading global provider of environmental services, specializing in environmental planning, permitting, measurement, analytical services, and solutions for sustainability and resilience. Our team of skilled engineers, scientists, technicians, and policy experts takes pride in our collective knowledge and collaborative approach to assisting clients. We aim to enhance environmental resilience in a manner that effectively supports our clients' decision-making processes and operational needs while fulfilling their project requirements efficiently.

With over 3000 employees and more than 135 locations worldwide, we are well-equipped to address diverse environmental challenges.

The Field Project Manager will serve as the primary field leader for the testing team, liaising with plant and regulatory contacts, and overseeing Montrose Client operations. A minimum of 2 years of source testing experience is required, along with a readiness to make a significant impact from the outset.

WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU

As an integral member of the Montrose team, you can anticipate:

  • Mentorship and professional development opportunities to further your career
  • Direct interaction with industry-leading experts tackling the most pressing environmental issues
  • An entrepreneurial environment that fosters learning, growth, and collaboration with talented peers
  • Opportunities to participate in our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives, as well as Women Empowering Leadership groups
  • A competitive compensation package, with hourly rates ranging from $27 to $38, based on achievements, performance, and qualifications
  • GSA Per Diem for overnight travel
  • Training and incentives for QI/QSTI Certification
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance options
  • 401k plan with a generous 4% employer match
  • Four weeks of vacation, company holidays, and paid parental leave to promote work-life balance
  • A financial assistance program to support colleagues in need, known as the Montrose Foundation
  • Access to favorable student loan rates to assist with repayment plans

A DAY IN THE LIFE

Begin your journey outdoors. Our Field Project Managers predominantly work outside, donning hard hats rather than sitting in an office.

As a vital member of the stack team, your responsibilities will encompass:

  • Overseeing project logistics by coordinating with logistics and office managers before field tests
  • Managing the onsite schedule and collaborating with client plant and regulatory contacts regarding scope adjustments
  • Overseeing all daily operational and safety aspects of site-specific stack programs
  • Conducting data reviews and ensuring field quality control
  • Ensuring the field test team is adequately staffed for all tasks while leading, training, and mentoring team members

YOUR EXPERTISE AND SKILLS

To excel in this role, candidates must be capable of performing each responsibility effectively. The following qualifications are essential:

  • High School diploma or degree in a related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of stack testing experience
  • Advanced knowledge of stack testing and QI credentials
  • Intermediate understanding of applicable Federal, State, and Local regulations
  • Willingness to travel overnight and locally for multi-day projects up to 70% of the time or more
  • Flexibility to accommodate weekend travel or work for select projects throughout the year
  • Ability to work in outdoor industrial environments, including climbing and working on elevated platforms (50ft - 300ft)
  • Capability to exert moderate physical effort, including lifting materials up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to pass background checks and initial/random drug screenings
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to obtain DOT medical certification and OSHA Respiratory Protection Medical Evaluation

The above statements are intended to outline the general nature of the work performed by individuals in this role. They are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties, and skills required of employees in this classification.
