Toronto, Ontario, Canada Montrose Environmental Group Full time

ABOUT YOU

Are you passionate about a career dedicated to safeguarding our planet and the quality of the air we breathe? Do you seek to be part of a supportive team that prioritizes your growth from the very beginning? If your answer is 'Yes', we present an engaging career opportunity where you will receive both formal training and hands-on experience, ensuring your success regardless of your prior background.

Who are we? We are Montrose, a worldwide leader in environmental services, specializing in environmental planning and permitting, measurement and analytical services, as well as sustainability and resilience solutions. Our team of skilled engineers, scientists, technicians, and policy experts take pride in our collective knowledge and collaborative approach to assisting clients. We aim to enhance environmental resilience in a manner that aligns seamlessly with our clients' decision-making processes and operational needs, effectively fulfilling their project objectives.

With over 3000 employees and more than 135 locations globally, we are well-equipped to address a wide range of environmental challenges.

The Field Project Supervisor will oversee field management for the testing team, liaising with plant and regulatory contacts, and monitoring client interactions. A minimum of 2 years of experience in source testing is required, along with a readiness to make a significant impact from the outset.

WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU

As a vital member of the Montrose team, you can anticipate:

  • Comprehensive mentorship and professional development resources to enhance your career trajectory
  • Direct engagement with industry-leading experts tackling some of the most pressing environmental issues
  • An entrepreneurial culture that fosters learning, growth, and collaboration with talented peers
  • Opportunities to participate in our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives, as well as Women Empowering Leadership groups
  • A competitive compensation package: hourly rates ranging from $27 to $38, based on your achievements, performance, and qualifications
  • GSA Per Diem for overnight travel
  • Training and incentive programs for QI/QSTI Certification
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance options
  • A 401k plan with a generous 4% employer match
  • Four weeks of vacation, company holidays, and paid parental leave to promote work-life balance
  • A financial assistance program, known as the Montrose Foundation, to support colleagues in need
  • Access to favorable student loan rates to help manage your repayment plans

A DAY IN THE LIFE

Start your journey outdoors. Our Field Project Supervisors primarily work in outdoor settings rather than traditional office environments.

As an essential member of the stack team, your responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinating project logistics by collaborating with logistics and office managers before field tests
  • Managing the onsite schedule and communicating with client plant contacts and regulatory representatives regarding scope modifications
  • Overseeing all daily operational and safety aspects of site-specific stack programs
  • Conducting data reviews and ensuring field quality control
  • Ensuring the field test team is adequately staffed for all tasks, while also leading, training, and mentoring team members

YOUR EXPERTISE AND SKILLS

To excel in this role, candidates must effectively fulfill each duty and responsibility. The following qualifications are essential:

  • High School diploma or a degree in a related field
  • A minimum of 2 years of stack testing experience
  • Advanced knowledge of stack testing and QI credentials
  • Intermediate understanding of relevant Federal, State, and Local regulations
  • Willingness to travel overnight and locally for multi-day projects, potentially up to 70% of the time
  • Flexibility, as the role may require weekend travel or work on occasion
  • Ability to work in outdoor industrial environments, including climbing and working on elevated platforms (50ft - 300ft)
  • Capacity to exert moderate physical effort, including lifting materials up to 50 pounds
  • Capability to pass background checks and initial/random drug screenings
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to obtain DOT medical certification and OSHA Respiratory Protection Medical Evaluation

The statements above are intended to describe the general nature of work performed by individuals in this role. They are not to be interpreted as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties, and skills required. If you are an individual with a disability and require reasonable accommodation to complete any part of the application process, please reach out for assistance.

MAKE THE MOVE TO ACCELERATE YOUR CAREER

We are straightforward – our work environment may not be suitable for everyone. We operate in a fast-paced, dynamic, and rapidly growing company. You will have autonomy, but you will also receive substantial guidance and support from knowledgeable colleagues and service providers. If you are drawn to freedom, independence, and challenging professional scenarios, we could be the ideal fit for you.
