Job Summary

Paladin Security is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Security Officer to join our team in providing exceptional patient safety and security services at various healthcare facilities across the province.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor patient safety reports and communicate with Protective Services and Clinical staff to ensure a safe environment.
  • Report all incidents and accidents in accordance with site regulations and company policies.
  • Respond promptly to alarms and emergency calls for assistance, utilizing de-escalation techniques to maintain order and ensure the safety of all stakeholders.
  • Enforce safety codes, regulations, and procedures to prevent accidents and ensure compliance.
  • Handle confidential and private information with discretion and maintain accurate records of patient interactions.
  • Utilize two-way radio and computer applications to communicate site activities and maintain effective communication with team members.
  • Screen visitors and clients in a professional manner, ensuring their safety and security.
  • Log and report all incidents, including those reported by hospital staff, patients, or visitors.
Requirements
  • Availability for a variety of shifts, including overnight shifts and weekends.
  • Ability to travel throughout assigned zones to rural sites within a 200 km radius of home.
  • Ability to obtain an Alberta Security License.
  • Valid Class 5 license and own vehicle.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to write comprehensive reports and maintain site logs.
  • Ability to make immediate decisions and maintain composure in emergency situations with minimal supervision.
  • Discretion when handling confidential and private information.
  • Ability to perform under pressure and in adversity.
  • Ability to walk 18-20 km and climb stairs.
