Position Overview: As a Healthcare Facility Security Officer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of various healthcare environments. Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor the safety of patients and report any changes to the appropriate Protective Services or Clinical personnel.
  • Document all incidents in accordance with site-specific protocols.
  • Respond promptly to alarms and emergency requests for assistance.
  • Adhere to and enforce established safety regulations and procedures.
  • Handle sensitive and confidential information with utmost discretion.
  • Utilize communication tools such as two-way radios and computer applications to report site activities.
  • Professionally screen and monitor visitors and clients.
  • Manage and de-escalate high-pressure situations to maintain order.
  • Ensure the safety of all individuals, including patients, staff, and visitors, using de-escalation techniques and, if necessary, physical intervention.
  • Maintain a detailed log of all interactions with patients.
  • Respond to emergency situations as required.

Qualifications:

  • Willingness to work various shifts, including nights and weekends.
  • Ability to travel to rural sites within a designated area.
  • Must obtain a valid Alberta Security License.
  • Possess a valid Class 5 driver's license and have access to a vehicle.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service abilities, maintaining professionalism and a friendly demeanor.
  • Capability to produce detailed reports and maintain accurate logs.
  • Ability to make quick decisions while remaining calm in emergency situations.
  • Discretion in handling confidential information.
  • Physical ability to walk significant distances and navigate stairs.
