As a Healthcare Facility Security Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of patients, staff, and visitors within various healthcare environments. This position offers competitive hourly compensation, travel incentives, extensive training opportunities, and a comprehensive benefits package.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor the safety of patients and promptly report any changes to the appropriate personnel.
- Document all incidents in accordance with site-specific protocols.
- Respond effectively to alarms and emergency situations.
- Enforce safety regulations and procedures diligently.
- Handle sensitive and confidential information with utmost discretion.
- Utilize communication tools such as two-way radios and computer applications to report site activities.
- Professionally screen and monitor visitors and clients.
- Manage and de-escalate high-pressure situations to maintain order.
- Ensure the safety of all individuals on-site using de-escalation techniques and, when necessary, physical intervention.
- Maintain a detailed log of all interactions with patients.
- Respond to emergency calls for assistance as required.
Qualifications:
- Availability for various shifts, including nights and weekends.
- Willingness to travel to rural sites within a designated area.
- Ability to obtain a valid Alberta Security License.
- Possession of a valid Class 5 driver's license and access to a vehicle.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a customer service-oriented approach.
- Capability to write detailed reports and maintain accurate logs.
- Ability to make quick decisions while remaining calm in emergencies.
- Discretion in handling confidential information.
- Physical capability to walk significant distances and navigate stairs.
