Job Title: On-Call Healthcare Security Guard

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented On-Call Healthcare Security Guard to join our team at Paladin Security. As a key member of our security team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of patients and staff at various health facilities across the province.

About the Role:
  • Monitor patient safety reports and changes to Protective Services and/or Clinical staff, providing timely and accurate updates to management.
  • Report incidents as per site regulations, maintaining a high level of professionalism and discretion.
  • Respond to alarms and emergency calls for assistance, utilizing effective communication skills to de-escalate high-stress situations.
  • Enforce safety codes, regulations, and procedures, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Handle confidential information with the utmost discretion, maintaining the trust and confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Communicate site activities using two-way radio and computer application, providing clear and concise updates to management and staff.
  • Screen visitors and clients professionally, ensuring a secure and welcoming environment for all stakeholders.
  • Respond to and de-escalate high-stress situations, utilizing effective conflict resolution skills to resolve issues promptly and efficiently.
  • Ensure the safety of all stakeholders, including patients, staff, and visitors, by maintaining a high level of awareness and vigilance at all times.
  • Log and report incidents, maintaining accurate and detailed records of all security-related events.
  • Maintain detailed logs of patient interactions, providing valuable insights and information to management and staff.
Requirements:
  • Availability for various shifts, including overnight shifts and weekends, to ensure 24/7 coverage of our health facilities.
  • Ability to travel throughout assigned zone to rural sites, utilizing your own vehicle and maintaining a valid class 5 license.
  • Ability to obtain Alberta Security License, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including patients, staff, and visitors.
  • Ability to write comprehensive reports and maintain site logs, providing clear and concise updates to management and staff.
  • Ability to make decisions in emergency situations, utilizing your critical thinking and problem-solving skills to resolve issues promptly and efficiently.
  • Discretion when handling confidential information, maintaining the trust and confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Ability to perform under pressure and in adversity, maintaining a high level of professionalism and composure in challenging situations.
  • Ability to walk 18-20 km and climb stairs, ensuring you can navigate our health facilities safely and efficiently.
