Current Opening: Onsite Employee Assistance Program Counselor

Location: Waterloo, ON

Onsite/Hybrid/Remote: ONSITE

Shifts: Overnight/weekend

Salary: $66,000 CAD per year

Key Responsibilities: Workplace Options is seeking an Onsite EAP clinical counselor to provide a range of services, including psychosocial evaluations, clinical case management, work-life referrals, and short-term counseling. The main responsibilities include:

  • Deliver integrated EAP services that encompass intake, assessment, support, triage, referral, clinical case management, and crisis intervention.
  • Provide counseling services with professionalism, ensuring strict confidentiality for all clients.
  • Comply with ethical, therapeutic, and legal standards in all service delivery.
  • Guide clients to appropriate resources while maintaining comprehensive clinical documentation.
  • Conduct assessments and offer necessary services for clients facing various challenges impacting work performance.
  • Provide crisis intervention, information, referral, and counseling services.
  • Facilitate critical incident support, assist managers, and lead various group activities.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as directed by the clinical management team.

Qualifications/Skills: To excel in this role, candidates should possess:

  • A Master's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or a related field.
  • A minimum of three years of relevant experience in counseling or mental health services.
  • Experience working with law enforcement and first responders, particularly in trauma exposure, is preferred.
  • Licensure or clinical certification is a plus.
