Interior Health Authority is seeking a skilled and knowledgeable Senior Project Manager to join our dynamic team on a full-time permanent basis.

In alignment with the core vision and values of Interior Health, the Project Manager will operate under the established project charter, receiving daily guidance from the client manager while collaborating closely with the Regional Manager. This role involves leading the development and execution of extensive corporate-wide and provincial clinical and business electronic systems.

The Project Manager is tasked with maintaining a continuous cycle of project planning, execution, and monitoring, adhering to Interior Health project management standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee assigned project resources and develop comprehensive project plans.
  • Ensure the successful delivery and acceptance of project outcomes for sign-off by relevant business areas.
  • Create essential project documentation, including charters, schedules, and specifications.
  • Collaborate with user groups and service providers to formulate a detailed project plan, incorporating risk management and business continuity strategies.
  • Direct all project-related activities and manage operational and capital budgets.
  • Engage with leadership groups, other health authorities, provincial partners, and suppliers to address project-related issues.
  • Handle project staffing functions, including recruitment, performance management, and ongoing development.
  • Establish and monitor service and performance standards, making necessary adjustments to enhance services and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Negotiate contract terms and pricing with software vendors and external service providers.
  • Manage change processes across all project-affected areas within Interior Health.
  • Continuously improve project management best practices and standards.
  • Provide expert consultation to fellow project managers.

Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree in Health Information Systems or a related field is required, along with a minimum of five to seven years of experience managing complex, multi-site information systems projects. Experience within a large and diverse healthcare organization is advantageous.

Professional Project Manager (PMP) designation or equivalent is preferred. Candidates should demonstrate a strong ability to build team environments, manage, coach, and develop staff, and effectively lead multiple projects in a complex implementation setting.
