Senior Helpers of Kelowna is actively seeking caregivers who possess experience in providing assistance or have worked in various senior living environments such as assisted living facilities, independent living facilities, nursing homes, and home care settings.

As a caregiver with Senior Helpers, you will have the unique chance to engage in a deeply rewarding profession. Your role will not only involve delivering exceptional care to clients but also establishing meaningful in-home connections that ensure the highest quality of life for those you serve. We will align your skills and expertise with the specific needs of the seniors you will assist.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Offer companionship and emotional support through engaging conversations and recreational activities.
  • Ensure a clean and safe living environment for clients.
  • Assist clients with Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADLs), including light housekeeping and meal preparation.
  • Support clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) as required.
  • Monitor and report any changes in clients' conditions to the healthcare team.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn new skills to better assist clients.

Qualifications:

  • A sincere desire to help others and enhance their quality of life.
  • Compassionate, patient, and empathetic nature.
  • Experience in healthcare, home care, or related fields is advantageous.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in English is required; knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
  • A recent negative Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check.
  • Reliable transportation and the ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings and weekends.
