Finance Operations Manager

The Finance Operations Manager will report directly to the Director of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A). This role involves close collaboration with various teams including Financial Planning & Analysis, IT, Operations, and others to manage IT/CapEx and G&A expenditures. The Finance Operations Manager will also engage with Accounting and Production Finance teams. This position is hands-on and entails responsibility for financial, CapEx, and G&A planning, modeling, reporting, and analytics within the VFX and Virtual Production sectors. Additionally, the manager will assist in planning and modeling regional Profit & Loss statements and work alongside regional business leaders to ensure alignment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Formulate business cases, financial models, budgets, and forecasts for both business units and regions in a dynamic environment.
  • Work in conjunction with IT and operational teams to ensure accurate forecasting and budgeting of IT/CapEx and G&A.
  • Create and deliver regular and ad-hoc financial reporting packages and models.
  • Evaluate financial outcomes and provide insights and recommendations for cost management and performance enhancement.
  • Identify potential issues proactively and propose solutions to mitigate risks.
  • Enhance the existing reporting framework to cater to the specific needs of various stakeholders, including developing new reports, assessing data flows, and recommending changes, while automating and streamlining current reports for better accuracy and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with Executive Management and various stakeholders on strategic initiatives.
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.
Minimum Qualifications
  • At least five (5) years of experience in a finance role or equivalent experience.
  • Proficient in creating clear, organized presentations and leading discussions with senior management.
  • Advanced skills in Excel and Google Sheets.
  • Exceptional analytical abilities.
  • Capability to prioritize tasks and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles under US GAAP.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional designation such as CPA or CFA.
  • Experience in consulting or client services.
  • Familiarity with planning systems like DataRails.
  • Background in VFX or technology sectors.

Salary range: $130,000 - $165,000 annually.

This salary range is specific to applicants applying for positions in Vancouver, BC. Your base salary will be determined based on your qualifications, skills, and experience, which may result in compensation outside of this range and will also depend on your location.
