The Finance Division at Brex

The Finance team is at the forefront of financial planning and analysis, as well as corporate development, which encompasses board communications, investor relations, fundraising, and mergers and acquisitions. We aim to be catalysts for change rather than merely a reporting entity. Our team collaborates closely with various departments across Brex to address critical inquiries, resolve challenges, and drive impactful results. Our corporate development initiatives also play a significant role in long-term planning and strategic decision-making for the organization.

Key Responsibilities

As the Finance Manager overseeing Commissions, you will play a pivotal role in steering the company's success by ensuring precise and effective commission frameworks and payouts for our sales and revenue teams. Your contributions will directly influence the motivation and productivity of our salesforce, aiding in the achievement of our growth objectives. You will be part of a dynamic finance team and work closely with senior leadership across various functions.

We are looking for a candidate who is enthusiastic about our business, possesses robust analytical capabilities, and demonstrates strategic insight to optimize our commission processes as we grow. The ideal applicant should excel in overcoming challenges and be skilled at navigating complex issues with exceptional organization and attention to detail. Reporting to the Head of Sales Finance, the Finance Manager for Commissions will be an integral member of the Finance team, responsible for designing, implementing, and managing our commission frameworks.

Primary Duties

  • Assist in the design and modeling of commission and sales incentive plans. Collaborate with sales management to provide cost-impact solutions and opportunities related to commission and incentive designs.
  • Own the strategy, implementation, and reporting of commission and incentive processing policies and procedures.
  • Ensure accurate processing of commission and sales incentive payments.
  • Prepare monthly summaries of commission and sales incentive payments for management, including trend analysis and forecasts.
  • Analyze sales performance data to offer insights and recommendations to senior leadership regarding commission-related decisions.
  • Serve as a liaison within Finance, promoting alignment with Sales, Revenue, and Operations teams to ensure commission accuracy and effectiveness.
  • Continuously enhance and streamline commission processes to improve efficiency and transparency.
  • Address escalated inquiries regarding complex commission or sales incentive processing issues.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree, preferably in Business, Finance, or Accounting.
  • Experience with the implementation and maintenance of Captivate IQ.
  • 4+ years of relevant experience in finance, commissions, revenue operations, or sales operations.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with a proven track record of successful collaboration across various functions.
  • Proficient in retrieving and managing large datasets in Excel or other database systems.
  • Highly self-motivated with a strong work ethic and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Willingness to work in the office two days per week.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced analytical skills and significant knowledge of US GAAP.
  • Experience in a SaaS company or other recurring revenue model business.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce and Looker.

Compensation Overview

The anticipated salary range for this position is $137,600 CAD - $172,000 CAD. However, the starting base salary will be determined by various factors, including the candidate's location, skills, experience, market demands, and internal pay equity. Depending on the position offered, equity and other forms of compensation may be included as part of a comprehensive compensation package.
