The Finance department at Brex is at the forefront of financial planning and analysis, as well as corporate development, which encompasses board communications, investor relations, fundraising, and mergers and acquisitions. Our team collaborates closely with various departments across Brex to address critical questions, solve challenges, and drive impactful results. Through our corporate development initiatives, we play a significant role in long-term strategic planning and major company decisions.

Role Overview

As the Finance Manager for Commissions, you will play a pivotal role in our organization's success by ensuring precise and effective commission frameworks and disbursements for our sales and revenue teams. Your contributions will directly influence the motivation and productivity of our salesforce, assisting us in reaching our growth objectives. You will be part of a dynamic finance team and work alongside senior leadership across multiple departments.

We are looking for a candidate who is enthusiastic about our business, possesses robust analytical capabilities, and demonstrates strategic insight to enhance our commission processes as we scale. The ideal applicant should excel in navigating challenges and be skilled at resolving complex issues with exceptional organization and attention to detail. Reporting to the Head of Sales Finance, the Finance Manager for Commissions will be an integral member of the Finance team, responsible for the design, implementation, and management of our commission frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design and modeling of commission and sales incentive plans, collaborating with sales management to provide cost-effective solutions and opportunities related to commission and incentive structures.
  • Oversee the strategy, implementation, and reporting of commission and incentive processing policies and procedures using Captivate IQ.
  • Ensure accurate processing of commission and sales incentive payments.
  • Prepare monthly summaries of commission and sales incentive payments for management, including trend analysis and forecast projections.
  • Analyze sales performance data to offer insights and recommendations to senior leadership regarding commission-related decisions.
  • Act as a liaison within the Finance department, promoting alignment with Sales, Revenue, and Operations teams to ensure commission accuracy and effectiveness.
  • Continuously enhance and streamline commission processes to improve efficiency and transparency.
  • Address escalated inquiries regarding complex commission or sales incentive processing issues.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting preferred.
  • Experience with the implementation and maintenance of Captivate IQ.
  • 4+ years of relevant experience in finance, commissions, revenue operations, or sales operations.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with a proven track record of successful collaboration across various functions.
  • Experience in retrieving and managing large datasets in Excel or other database systems.
  • Highly self-motivated with a strong work ethic and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Willingness to work in the office two days per week.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced analytical skills and significant knowledge of US GAAP.
  • Experience in a SaaS company or a business with a recurring revenue model.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce and Looker.

Compensation Information

The anticipated salary range for this position is $137,600 CAD - $172,000 CAD. The starting base pay will be determined by various factors, including the candidate's location, skills, experience, market demand, and internal pay parity. Depending on the role, equity and other forms of compensation may be included as part of the overall compensation package.
