We are seeking a dedicated Administrative Booking Specialist to support our operations.
Vancouver Coastal Health is in search of a skilled Administrative Booking Specialist to enhance our service delivery. This role is essential in ensuring efficient scheduling and administrative support.
Responsibilities of the Administrative Booking Specialist include:
Performing scheduling and booking tasks, along with clerical and reception duties. Key tasks involve: organizing and scheduling a variety of client/patient appointments, follow-up visits, tests, and referrals, managing appointment calendars for designated healthcare professionals, maintaining and printing daily schedules that incorporate activities from various locations as necessary, adjusting schedules to accommodate changing demands and confirming client/patient information. Keeping client/patient records updated in a computerized system and tracking attendance statistics. Coordinating patient transportation as needed. Executing clerical tasks that include proficiently typing various materials using different software applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and presentation tools. Offering reception services by welcoming clients/patients and directing them appropriately, as well as addressing general inquiries. Responding to phone messages or directing callers to the relevant healthcare personnel. Managing departmental equipment, supplies, and filing systems. Performing timekeeping functions for designated staff as required.Qualifications
Education & Experience
Completion of Grade 12, along with two years of recent, relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.Knowledge & Skills
Ability to interact effectively with others. Familiarity with medical terminology. Proficient verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational abilities. Competence in operating related equipment. Ability to type at a minimum of 40 words per minute. Physical capability to perform the duties of the position.Additional Information
Work hours, including days off and work area, may vary based on operational needs and the applicable Collective Agreement and statutes. Successful candidates may be required to undergo a Criminal Records Review Check.
