Position: Financial Accountant

Location: Palestine

Enabel is the Belgian development agency dedicated to implementing Belgium's governmental cooperation and initiatives for various national and international donors. With a workforce of 1,900 professionals, Enabel oversees approximately 170 projects across 21 countries, including Belgium, Africa, and the Middle East, addressing critical global issues such as Climate Change, Urbanization, Human Mobility, Peace and Security, Economic and Social Inequality, and Global Citizenship.

Context

Enabel has initiated a new cooperation portfolio for Palestine, building on past successes in governmental cooperation while responding to contemporary Palestinian and global challenges.

Role Overview

Enabel is seeking a Financial Accountant to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the processing, entry, and verification of accounting data and documentation related to assigned projects, ensuring high-quality accounting that is reliable, timely, and comprehensive.
  • Prepare treasury operations to guarantee timely payments to suppliers and beneficiaries.
  • Compile documentation for auditing purposes to facilitate reviews by supervisors and auditors.
  • Verify supporting documents related to grants to ensure proper oversight.
  • Provide accurate financial data to support reliable financial reporting and analysis.

Profile Requirements:

Educational Background:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting and/or Financial Management.

Experience:

A minimum of 5 years in a similar role, with specific experience in grants reporting and oversight.

Essential Skills:

  • Proficient in accounting software.
  • Strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping (accrual accounting).
  • Excellent time management skills, meeting deadlines consistently.
  • Clear and responsible communication abilities.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Windows.
  • Solid organizational skills with attention to detail and multitasking capabilities.
  • Able to thrive in a multicultural environment and work effectively within a team.

Preferred Skills:

Fluency in spoken and written English and Arabic is considered an asset.
