Position Overview

The Clinical Nurse Specialist plays a vital role in delivering professional nursing services to patients, particularly those with intricate and unpredictable health conditions. This role encompasses independent nursing practices, administering prescribed medical treatments, leading within the healthcare team, and orchestrating patient care and discharge processes.

Experience Requirements
  • A minimum of one (1) year of recent experience in acute medicine, cardiology, or surgical nursing is preferred.
  • Current staff members on the unit will be considered qualified.
Educational Background
  • Graduation from an accredited Registered Nursing program is mandatory.
Licensure and Certification
  • Active registration with the relevant nursing regulatory body is required.
  • Engagement in professional nursing associations is preferred.
  • Annual Basic Life Support (BLS) Level C certification is required.
  • Completion of the Advanced Assessment Course is expected when offered by the employer or as mutually agreed upon.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Understanding of the scope of practice as outlined in the applicable health professions legislation.
  • If qualified applicants are not available, the employer may consider candidates who do not meet all qualifications.
