Job Summary

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a high level of expertise in estate planning and wealth management. As an Estate Planning Consultant with the Royal Bank of Canada, you will work closely with Investment Advisors to provide consulting services to their clients, which can then be implemented in coordination with their own tax and legal professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Client Interviews and Reporting

Conduct comprehensive client interviews and create detailed summary letters recapping advice discussed during the session.

Collaboration with Advisors

Participate in client/prospect seminars and develop and maintain relationships with other estate planning professionals both internal and external to the Royal Bank of Canada.

Staying Current

Stay up-to-date on pertinent legislation, policy, and risk management issues that impact estate planning and wealth management.

New Business Opportunities

Identify and pursue new business and referral opportunities for the Royal Bank of Canada where appropriate.

Team Collaboration

Foster a cohesive working environment across the Royal Bank of Canada to facilitate seamless delivery of service to clients.

Record Keeping

Maintain and report accurate and complete records of activities and results.

Requirements
  • Education and Experience

Candidate must have a Canadian Law Degree and be called to the bar in at least one Canadian province or territory. A minimum of 5 years' experience in estate planning and wealth management is required, with advanced knowledge of Canadian legislation, including planning of wills, estate, and trust administration, and related tax rules and planning opportunities.

Skills and Qualifications

Candidate must have excellent written, verbal, and electronic communication skills, as well as fluency in Mandarin and/or Cantonese. A valid driver's license is also required.
