Job Summary

Canada Gives is seeking a highly skilled Philanthropic Planning Associate to join our team. As a key member of our Foundations & Donor Services department, you will provide exceptional support to our donors, their advisors, and charities, helping them develop giving strategies that align with their unique goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Donor Support: Provide personalized support to new and existing donors, their advisors, and charities, ensuring a seamless giving experience.
  • Gift Planning: Implement and facilitate existing gift planning strategies, working closely with donors, charities, and advisors to create impactful gifts.
  • Charity Research: Conduct in-depth research on charities, producing detailed reports to inform donor decisions.
  • Gift Agreements: Prepare, review, and facilitate gift agreements, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Donor Data Management: Manage and update donor data, ensuring accuracy and consistency across multiple systems.
  • Strategic Partnerships: Develop and maintain relationships with charity partners, working collaboratively to design impactful gifts.
  • Grant Processing: Support the grant processing team, ensuring timely and accurate processing of grants.
  • Legacy Giving: Implement estate and legacy giving strategies, working with donors and charities to create lasting legacies.
  • Professional Development: Stay up-to-date with charity sector developments, legislation changes, and other relevant matters affecting charitable giving.
Requirements
  • Experience: 5+ years working with high net worth donors in a large Canadian charity.
  • Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of the Canadian charitable sector and navigation of the CRA Charities Directorate.
  • Skills: Outstanding donor relations, research, and communication skills, with a strong understanding of family and multi-generational philanthropy.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and CRM.
  • Education: CFRE or MFA-P designation is preferable.
