POSITION SUMMARY:

As a Loyalty Category Manager, you will oversee the management of a designated product category, focusing on profitability, sales, advertising, category strategy, vendor negotiations, SKU selection, and customer service related to the loyalty program.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Develop sales and promotional strategies, including advertising campaigns, themed events, and seasonal opportunities to meet category objectives and manage loyalty points effectively.

2. Strategically manage the loyalty budget concerning MOI points.

3. Define product assortment and negotiate purchasing terms and conditions.

4. Create and maintain a promotional calendar to optimize sales and profitability.

5. Conduct regular category assessments in relation to MOI points, collaborating with existing category management teams to ensure market competitiveness while achieving financial targets.

6. Collaborate closely with Marketing and Loyalty teams to ensure a unified loyalty program.

7. Analyze customer insights data to implement successful loyalty strategies and measure their effectiveness.

8. Review point systems and values to maintain market competitiveness.

9. Monitor competitive and industry activities, including trends and opportunities, to support continuous improvement and innovation within the category.

10. Conduct regular competitive store visits to gather firsthand insights.

11. Adjust category plans as necessary to respond to customer needs.

12. Identify consumer requirements and develop loyalty point strategies to address them.

13. Maintain communication with Store Managers, Merchandisers, Inventory Managers, and others to resolve product or service inquiries related to assigned business initiatives.

14. Monitor market conditions affecting categories within the marketplace.

15. Supervise an assistant, including performance management responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

5-7 years of experience in merchandising or category management, preferably in the grocery retail sector.

A university degree in a business-related field is an asset.

Previous supervisory or management experience is advantageous.

Strong proficiency in the SAP Merchandising Module and BW.

Good working knowledge of Dunnhumby Shop and Nielsen Workstation Plus.

Proficient in MS Office, with intermediate to advanced Excel skills.

Demonstrated experience in forecasting.

Excellent communication skills and a positive, results-oriented attitude.

Occasional travel may be required.
