Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Intermediate Underground Estimator to join our team. As an Intermediate Underground Estimator, you will be responsible for analyzing contract documents, preparing self-perform cost estimates, and assembling accurate and timely estimates.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze contract documents to prepare self-perform cost estimates for underground utility installation projects.
  • Assemble accurate, timely, and well-organized estimates, including hard-bid, construction management, and design-build.
  • Prepare quantity takeoffs and organize subcontractor quotes.
  • Set up new cost estimates in bidding software and develop schedules for accuracy.
  • Contact subcontractors and vendors to obtain external pricing.
  • Monitor project success, noting potential challenges and building relationships with sub-trades.
  • Identify potential project risks and attend pre-tender meetings and site visits.
  • Work with proposal and operations teams to develop execution methodologies, safety plans, and quality documentation.
  • Present estimates to management for review.
Requirements
  • 3+ years of estimating experience.
  • 1+ years of water and sewer construction experience is an asset.
  • Project management and field experience is an asset.
  • Familiarity with B2W suite and asset.
  • Self-motivated, energetic, and reliable with a positive disposition.
  • Good communicator with attention to detail and good documentation skills.
