Your Role as a Senior Civil Estimator:

  • Evaluate contract documents, including drawings and specifications, to create precise cost estimates for projects involving earthworks such as site development and road construction.
  • Compile accurate and organized estimates for various project delivery methods, including hard-bid, construction management, and design-build.
  • Conduct quantity take-offs to ensure thoroughness in estimating.
  • Coordinate sub-contractor quotes when bids are successful, assisting in the buy-out process.
  • Set up new cost estimates using bidding software to streamline the process.
  • Develop schedules for accuracy and assess production rates.
  • Reach out to subcontractors and vendors for specific pricing information.
  • Monitor project success, identify potential challenges, and foster relationships with sub-trades for future collaboration.
  • Recognize potential project risks and address them proactively.
  • Participate in pretender meetings and site visits as necessary.
  • Collaborate with proposal and operations teams to draft execution methodologies, safety plans, Indigenous Engagement Strategies, and quality documentation.
  • Present estimates to management for review and feedback.

Is This Position Right for You?

  • Experience in project management and field operations is advantageous.
  • A minimum of 3 years in civil construction is preferred.
  • Familiarity with the B2W suite is beneficial.
  • At least 8 years of estimating experience is required.
  • A self-motivated, energetic, and dependable individual with a positive attitude.
  • Strong communication skills with a keen attention to detail and excellent documentation abilities.
