Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Heavy Civil Estimator who will be responsible for analyzing contract documents, preparing cost estimates, and coordinating with subcontractors and vendors. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in estimating, civil construction, and project management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze contract documents to prepare accurate and timely cost estimates for projects
  • Prepare quantity takeoffs and assemble estimates for hard-bid, construction management, and design-build projects
  • Organize subcontractor quotes and assist with the buy-out process
  • Set up new cost estimates in bidding software and develop schedules for accuracy
  • Contact subcontractors and vendors to obtain external pricing
  • Monitor project success, identify potential challenges, and build relationships with sub-trades
  • Identify potential project risks and attend pre-tender meetings and site visits
  • Work with proposal and operations teams to develop execution methodologies, safety plans, and quality documentation
  • Present estimates to management for review

Requirements

  • 8+ years of estimating experience
  • 3+ years of civil construction, project management, and field experience
  • Familiarity with B2W suite and asset
  • Self-motivated, energetic, and reliable with a positive disposition
  • Good communicator with attention to detail and good documentation skills
