About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Fitter to join our team at BWX Technologies, a world leader in the design, engineering, manufacture, construction, and service of nuclear power generation equipment. As a Fitter, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality, cost, and delivery expectations of our customers are met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform all types of fitting operations on Company products, including installing robotic tube hole cleaning equipment and supporting robotic technical personnel as required.
  • Set up pre-heat equipment and perform pressure testing procedures.
  • Identify and verify work piece material, plan and organize the fitting process, and select and use layout tools.
  • Establish layout lines from existing datum points, manufacture a template, and perform hydrostatic and pneumatic testing of boilers and pressure vessels.
  • Set up and position pre-heating equipment, sling/transport, and position material and equipment to and from the work area manually.
  • Work in a safe manner, demonstrating good workmanship and practices.
Requirements
  • Proven commitment to workplace safety.
  • Commitment to quality and the ability to work as a positive, effective team member, willing to go the extra mile to ensure customer expectations are met.
  • Previous fitting experience, ideally in a heavy manufacturing environment.
  • Successful completion of a welder program.
  • Intermediate understanding of blueprint reading.
  • Ability to read and understand/interpret drawings, specifications, operating procedures, work orders, etc.
  • Available to work all shifts, including weekday days, weekday afternoons, weekend days, and weekend afternoons.
