Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Inspection Specialist to join our team at BWX Technologies. As a Nuclear Inspection Specialist, you will be responsible for performing non-destructive examinations and general inspections in accordance with industry standards and certifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform non-destructive examinations (NDE) and general inspections in all areas of the shop
  • Read and interpret documentation, including technical specifications and quality control procedures
  • Create inspection reports and maintain documentation
  • Work in a safe manner, adhering to all safety protocols and procedures
  • Demonstrate good workmanship and practices, ensuring high-quality results
Requirements
  • Proven commitment to workplace safety and adherence to industry standards
  • General Inspector qualifications and certifications from a governing body (e.g. CGSB, AWS, CWB)
  • NDE certifications from a governing body, including MT CGSB-2, PT CGSB-2, and RT CGSB-2, as well as two of the following: CEDO, UT CGSB-1, RT CGSB-1, 2 years of experience as a Fabrication/Machining inspector, or 5 years of experience as a Fabrication/Machine inspector or Fitting/Welding inspector
  • Proficiency with computers and ability to work with various software applications
  • Availability to work all shifts, including weekday days, weekday afternoons, weekend days, and weekend afternoons
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a heavy manufacturing environment or in the nuclear power-related industry
  • Commitment to quality and ability to work as a positive, effective team member
