Key Responsibilities:- Perform all types of fitting operations on Company products, including installing robotic tube hole cleaning equipment and supporting robotic technical personnel as required.
- Set up pre-heat equipment and position materials according to drawings, prints, jigs, and layouts.
- Read and interpret Work Orders, Drawings, Shop Instruction Sheets (SIS), Weld Procedure Specifications (WPS), and plan and organize the fitting process.
- Identify and verify work piece material, select and use layout tools, and establish layout lines from existing datum points.
- Manufacture templates, select and set oxy-acetylene or natural gas pressure settings and cutting tips, and pre-heat the work piece.
- Use oxy-acetylene or natural gas, radiograph, plasma-arc, power cut-off saw, and carbon-arc to cut work piece, perform pressure testing procedures, and studding, arc air, non-pressure welding, and component tacking.
- Perform hydrostatic and pneumatic testing of boilers and pressure vessels, set up and position pre-heating equipment, and sling/transport material and equipment to and from work area manually.
- Proven commitment to workplace safety and a commitment to quality.
- Previous fitting experience, ideally in a heavy manufacturing environment, and successful completion of a welder program.
- Intermediate understanding of blueprint reading and ability to read and understand/interpret drawings, specifications, operating procedures, work orders, etc.
- Availability to work all shifts, including weekday days, weekday afternoons, weekend days, and weekend afternoons.
