Business Development Manager

About the Role:

The Business Development Manager will play a key role in driving the growth and expansion of KAG Canada's business. This individual will work closely with the Senior Leadership Team to develop and execute a strategic sales and business development plan, focusing on organic growth and diversification of service offerings in new product lines and markets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with department leaders to ensure the necessary resources are in place to deliver on commitments and achieve high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Work closely with the Marketing team to develop strategies for communications and social media to promote the business and business opportunities for growth.
  • Provide direction and support to other leaders in the company on sales and business development best practices.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry regulations, market trends, and economic climate to inform business decisions.
  • Attend industry events and conferences to stay informed and share learnings with the team.

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education in administration, safety, logistics, or transportation, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of diverse experience with management responsibilities in the transportation industry.
  • Bilingual, French and English.
  • Strong background in chemicals and food grade products is highly desired.
  • Previous roles must include formal sales or business development responsibilities.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Well organized, detail oriented, enthusiastic, and confident with a roll-up-your-sleeves attitude towards work.
  • Capable of handling confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, requiring initiative and ambition, able to work independently.
  • A solid business presence complimented by personal drive, resourcefulness, maturity, integrity, honesty, and sound business judgment.
  • Ability to travel within the assigned region 50% of the time or greater as needs arise.
  • Required to be on-call outside of normal business hours.
