The School of Business, one of the largest in Western Canada, is passionate about student achievement and operates within a framework that values academic excellence, teamwork, and innovation. We serve over 3,800 students in credit programs and engage 10,000 individuals annually in professional and leadership training. Our programs, including degrees, diplomas, and certificates, are tailored to meet the evolving demands of today’s job market, covering areas such as accounting, financial services, human resources, management, supply chain, marketing, and legal studies.

Role Responsibilities

  • Curriculum Development
  • Design engaging learning activities and authentic assessments that promote active participation and foster a culture of experiential learning.
  • Encourage inclusive learning environments and maintain open communication with students regarding their progress and achievements.
  • Implement innovative teaching methodologies that reflect current best practices in adult education.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to enhance instructional quality and program effectiveness.

Classroom Engagement

  • Lead a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages respectful dialogue and idea exchange.
  • Deliver course content, including lesson plans, lectures, assignments, and evaluations, while providing supplementary materials for student support.
  • Assess student performance and facilitate their academic success.
  • Address academic integrity issues and liaise with the Academic Chair as necessary.
  • Ensure appropriate accommodations are made for students with disabilities.
  • Show genuine interest in student development and create an optimal learning environment.
  • Coordinate with faculty colleagues on classroom delivery and assessment strategies.
  • Direct students to available institutional resources such as counseling, academic advising, and tutoring services.
  • Offer continuous support and guidance to current and prospective students.

Beyond the Classroom

  • Contribute positively to team dynamics and collaboration.
  • Participate in meetings and professional development initiatives.
  • Establish and maintain industry connections.
  • Foster relationships with academic peers.
  • Support SAIT's mission and the School of Business's academic objectives.
  • Commit to ongoing professional development and a culture of continuous learning.

Qualifications

  • Extensive knowledge and expertise in administrative professional practices.
  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Proficient in technology, particularly the Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
  • Strong digital literacy skills.
  • Exceptional communication abilities, both written and verbal, along with strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • A collaborative mindset and ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment.
  • Prior teaching experience is preferred, especially at the post-secondary level.
  • A relevant undergraduate diploma or degree is required; a Master's degree is advantageous.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
