School of Business Overview

The School of Business is recognized as one of the largest business schools in Western Canada, dedicated to fostering student success through a collaborative and innovative educational environment. We cater to over 3,800 students in credit programs and 10,000 registrants in professional and leadership programs annually.

Position Summary

We are seeking qualified casual instructors to deliver courses in administrative professional studies, including office administration, event management, integrated business applications, and advanced Microsoft Office skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Curriculum Development: Design engaging learning activities and assessments that promote active participation and a culture of experiential learning.
  • Classroom Engagement: Foster an inclusive and dynamic learning environment, encouraging respectful dialogue and idea exchange among students.
  • Instructional Delivery: Present course materials, manage lesson plans, and evaluate student performance while providing additional resources to enhance learning.
  • Student Support: Offer guidance and support to students, ensuring accommodations are made for those with disabilities and addressing academic integrity concerns as necessary.
  • Collaboration: Work with colleagues and stakeholders to enhance instructional quality and contribute positively to the academic community.

Qualifications

  • Extensive knowledge and experience in the administrative professional sector, including office practices.
  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Proficient in technology, particularly the Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, along with excellent interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Prior teaching experience is preferred, especially at the post-secondary level.
  • A relevant undergraduate diploma or degree is required; a Master's degree is advantageous.
