Job Description

Role Summary

The School of Business at SAIT is seeking qualified instructors to teach administrative professional courses, including office administration, meetings and events, and Microsoft Office skills. As an instructor, you will be responsible for creating engaging learning activities and assessments, cultivating inclusive learning environments, and collaborating with stakeholders to support instructional quality improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver high-quality course materials, including lesson plans, lectures, and assessments
  • Manage and lead a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment
  • Evaluate student progress and facilitate student achievement
  • Respond to academic integrity concerns and report to Academic Chair as required
  • Ensure learner accommodations are correctly applied for learners with disabilities
  • Provide ongoing support, guidance, and advice to learners and potential learners
  • Contribute to a positive team environment and attend meetings, professional development opportunities, and other events as required

Qualifications

  • Depth of knowledge and expertise in the administrative professional field, including office procedures and practices
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of industry experience
  • Comprehensive experience in technology, including extensive skills in Microsoft Office Suite and other industry-relevant software
  • Demonstrated excellence in communication skills, both written and oral, as well as well-developed interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Work well in a team environment and be able to excel in a collaborative environment
  • Previous teaching experience is preferred, experience at the post-secondary level is an asset
  • Undergraduate diploma or degree is required; a Master's degree is an asset
