The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Food Services Supervisor to join our team at IWK Health Centre. As a key member of our hospitality operations team, you will be responsible for leading and managing the preparation, assembly, and delivery of patient meals and snacks, as well as catering events and functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate the preparation and delivery of patient meals and snacks, catering events, and cafeteria meals
  • Develop and implement strategies for healthy eating and revenue generation
  • Lead and manage a team of food service staff, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality service and patient satisfaction
  • Monitor and maintain food safety and quality standards, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless service delivery and patient care
Requirements
  • Food Service Technology course or equivalent required
  • Graduate of a 4-year nutrition degree preferred
  • Food Handlers course and WHMIS an asset
  • Excellent leadership, team building, and interpersonal skills required
  • Excellent communication, accuracy, and organizational skills required
  • Proven skills in customer service required
  • Superior supervision and decision-making skills
  • Competencies in other languages are considered an asset

This is a management position within our hospitality operations team. As a Food Services Supervisor, you will be responsible for leading and managing a team of food service staff, ensuring high-quality service and patient satisfaction. You will work closely with other departments to ensure seamless service delivery and patient care.
