Position Overview

The Nutrition and Food Services Supervisor plays a crucial role in overseeing daily operations within the Nutrition and Food Services department. This position is responsible for supervising staff, managing meal service delivery, and ensuring the safety and efficiency of operations in designated areas.

Key Responsibilities

As a Supervisor, you will:

  • Report directly to the Manager of Nutrition and Food Services.
  • Oversee front-line staff and manage day-to-day activities to ensure high-quality service.
  • Act as a liaison within the integrated Nutrition and Food Services model, providing guidance and support to team members.
  • Assist in administrative and operational functions in alignment with the strategic objectives of the department.
  • Commit to patient safety and quality assurance, focusing on food safety and operational improvements.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A post-secondary degree in Nutrition or a recognized qualification in Food and Nutrition Management.
  • Journeyman Cook Certification (preferred).
  • Advanced Food Safety Certification and HACCP Training.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in food service or clinical nutrition management, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Strong leadership and staff management skills, with experience in a unionized environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proven ability to build collaborative relationships and provide customer-focused service.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • A commitment to continuous improvement and innovation in service delivery.
  • A valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle for travel to various sites.
Work Environment

This position is classified as Casual Relief, requiring flexibility in scheduling and the ability to work outside of standard hours as needed.

Compensation

The hourly wage for this position is $37.38, with an additional 11% in lieu of benefits and vacation.
